After announcing his retirement on Tuesday, India’s former opening batsman Gautam Gambhir appeared for this last match at the Feroz Shah Kotla.
Playing against Andhra in a Group B Ranji Trophy Round 5 match on Saturday, Gambhir took his final walk off the field.
Gambhir is remembered for his role in India winning the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 World Cup. He was also named ICC Test Player of the Year in 2009.
Around 500 fans came to watch him bat for the last time with a huge banner saying “THANK YOU GAUTI”. Gambhir didn’t disappoint the fans, scoring his 43rd first-class century. He scored 112 runs before walking off the field.

While his way back, a spectator came down to congratulate and click a selfie with him. He was also given the guard of honor by the home team.
