Esha Gupta slams Hardik Pandya for his misogynist remarks on ‘Koffee With Karan’

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya recently featured in a celebrity talk-show ‘Koffee With Karan’ and made some sexist remarks on women. Thereafter, he has been a recipient of severe criticism from every nook and corner of the country.

Even the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) came down hard on him and sent him a show-cause notice, asking him to reply on the shambolic matter in the talk-show.

The Committee of Administrators (CoA), headed by Vinod Rai, also handed him an indefinite suspension until a further enquiry on the matter. He was sent home midway from the tour of Australia and his replacement has also been named.

Diana Edulji, Rai’s colleague and former Indian women’s cricketer, also hinted that the 25-year-old might miss the World Cup, starting on May 30.

In the meantime, Esha Gupta, who was once rumoured to be in a relationship with Hardik Pandya and even marrying him, has denied she is even friends with him. The Bollywood actress lashed out at his recent controversial comments by saying that such views were ‘wrong on humanity’.

When asked about Hardik and KL Rahul’s comments on ‘Koffee with Karan’, Esha replied, “Many times people get more excited and say such things. I think even then a little education should be given on how to talk, especially about women.”

She felt everyone associated with the show is accountable for an answer, “We publicize such things and later raise questions, I think we should question everyone involved in the show.”

When a journalist termed the all-rounder as her ‘friend’ while asking a question, she denied it by saying, “Who is the one who told you (Hardik Pandya) is my friend?”

She continued by slamming Hardik for his comments. “Firstly, women should not compare themselves with men. We are the best in every respect. I don’t want anyone to feel bad, but why don’t you give birth to a child? We suffer from periods five days every month and even then we have to dance, go to an office, and take care of the children. When you can do all this, you become superior.”

“I do not think anyone should talk bad about any woman, if you think your family is not worried about it, then be it, but it is wrong on humanity,” the 33-year-old actress added.
