A case has been filed against a man for breaching the security cordon at Uppal Stadium in Hyderabad where the second Test match between India and West Indies is being played. The man, who has been identified by PTI as 19-year-old Mohammad Khan, was slapped with a case of trespassing for his actions.

Virat Kohli was fielding at mid-wicket in the opening session of the first day of the Test, when the fan ran onto the field and embraced the Indian star. The man ran around 70 metres before engaging Kohli in a tight hug and then trying to plant a kiss on the Indian captain’s cheek.

Later, the security officers overpowered the youngster and hauled him off the field as the crowd roared and clapped. The umpires called for a drinks break as Kohli was visibly upset.

It is the second time during the series that such incident has taken place. Earlier, a fan interrupted the play to click selfies with Kohli on the first day of the first Test at Rajkot. As India continued to dominate over the visitors, two fans ran to the ground and clicked selfies with the skipper, who was standing in the middle of the pitch.

29-year-old Kohli is often the subject of adulation, with one fan touching his feet before taking a selfie during the Indian Premier League (IPL) match earlier this year.
