India vs West Indies 2018: Umesh Yadav replaces injured Shardul Thakur for first two ODIs

Right-arm fast bowler Umesh Yadav will replace injured Shardul Thakur in India’s squad for the first two ODIs against Windies.

Shardul suffered with a right adductor tendon injury during the second Test in Hyderabad and has now been ruled out of the upcoming 50-over matches.

The Mumbai pacer was forced to move out off the field after bowling just 10 deliveries with an ankle injury on Day 1 of his debut Test match at the Uppal Stadium.

Earlier, Shardul was ruled out of the Asia Cup 2018 as well, with right hip and groin soreness after playing only one match, against Hong Kong.

Umesh Yadav, who bagged the Man of the Match award for his 10 wicket-haul in the match at Hyderabad, last played an ODI for India during England series claiming one for 63 in his 10 overs. England won that match by 86 runs.
